GenreSense does not upload saved microphone audio to its own servers, and microphone access is used only after you start recognition. Song identification may depend on network connectivity and music catalog availability. SONG MATCHES AND GENRES ARE DIFFERENT Song recognition answers whether the audio matches a known track. Genre recognition estimates what style the audio sounds closest to. You may see both, one, or neither. Genre results are probabilistic and can be affected by background noise, speaker quality, recording conditions, complex mixes, live versions, covers, unreleased songs, and overlapping genre traits.
